Developing Future Leaders

In the interest of a better future, we seek a courageous path toward an inclusive South that starts with our own communities, one that reckons with truth and allows people to claim full voice.

Cultivate a rising generation of leaders

A prosperous future for the American South depends on future generations who want to study, live, and lead in communities across the region. We  inspire, educate, and support the next generation of leaders who will contribute to the region’s prosperity. We support undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, decision-makers and thought leaders through scholarships, courses, fellowships, community partnerships, and summits that foster life-changing education, critical thinking, and listening across difference.

A Rising Generation of Leaders

We support undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, and others with scholarships, grants, courses, community partnerships, and gatherings to connect the people who care for this region and its future. Over the past year, Southern Futures worked with students across 10 different departments. Here are a few of their stories.
